Zen with Pac Div

Oddisee of Diamond District

Pac Div on stage

So last night was dope! I went down to Drom on Ave A to check out Brooklyn Bodega’s CMJ showcase. It was a pretty good turnout and there were some great acts performing. I ran into Von Pea and Donwill from Tanya Morgan who were also added to the lineup. They had a short set but they did their thing! There were some good R&B sets from Kimberly Nichole and Jesse Boykins III but the crowd really seemed to be excited to see Diamond District and Pac Div. Diamond District killed it and it was dope to see a DMV group get so much love in NYC. Pac Div were really fun to see live! The crowd went nuts when they performed “Mayor.” Shouts to those guys… I had a chance to chat with them for a sec and they were super nice, very down-to-earth

Last night we went up to 89.3 FM in D.C. for their Soul Controllers show hosted by “Bush Head” Ed.  I’m still boggled by Ed’s “Bush Head’ prefix added to his name since he actually keeps his hair quite close to the scalp.  Hmmmm…  Anyway, we had a great time.  Ed did a great job interviewing Eddie (I know it’s confusing but try to keep up), myself and Zen.  We got to talk about Eddie’s Sound Wandering, my work with Impulse as The Demonstrators and we also got to plug out upcoming show with Brand Nubian and our Party at The Depot.  We hope we reached some new folks and we hope our usual audience enjoyed it.  For those that missed it, we hope to have the full interview soon for podcast download.  In the meantime here are some pics taken by none other then Young Zen!
