New Music: August Gordon – Beast Coast

BeastCoast6-BW

New music from August Gordon!!! He’s definitely one of the illest beatmakers I know and probably one of the illest out, period.

Here’s what August has to say about the project.

This project came about when I stumbled upon an old hard drive at a friends containing a bunch of great instrumentals that I had forgotten about from the late 90s into the early 2000s. I originally intended to just release a “Lost Tapes” beat tape of sorts but when I started going through them I realized that a lot of the beats had a real distinct east coast golden era flavor. I picked the best of those gems and added a bunch of stuff from recent years that didn’t get placed or Id forgotten, made some new beats, did some edits, interludes etc and viola, Beast Coast was born. Growing up in Baltimore and spending a lot of my childhood in NY, this serves as my homage to the northeast, a place that brought me my first true love in music, hip hop. This is a good joint to blast in the whip, play some dice to late night or just pump out some big ol speakers at a house party.Watch the levels cus I kept it unmastered and raw, the way u used to get tapes from your friends back in the day.Hopefully this will help u get caught back up in the nostalgia of a sound that keeps reinventing itself!! As always free download (donations accepted).I just ask if you enjoy the music spread it around. Peace and Love and have a safe, fun and productive summer )

New Music: August Flight Gordon – Beach Days

rainer

August Flight Gordon has released Beach Days, an EP of lazy summer day instrumental tunes. August is a recent collaborator of mine and is a producer that folks really need to check for. In his own words, Beach Days is like “…cruisin in the parking lot in a 67 something looking at girlies in high socks and roller skates too.” Check it out below and visit Bandcamp to buy at a name your own price, cost.

New Music: Rome Cee x Greenspan – The Harvest

HarvestCover

When Rome Cee asked me to do the art for the single off his collab with Baltimore MC, Greenspan I had to give the track before I started and right away I was feeling it. Produced by the homie August Flight Gordon, the track called “The Harvest,” has a soulful vibe but doesn’t feel like a retreading of the soul sound of say a 9th Wonder. It feels fresh and has a nice energy thanks to the rolling drum loop. On top of having a bangin’ beat, both Rome and Green rip it and it makes me excited for the EP.
