Beach Day

One of the best things about LA, in my opinion, is that you can go to the beach in October. This picture was from this past weekend and I might hit the beach tomorrow since it’s going to be in the upper 80′s inland.  Wherever you are, you gotta grab your piece of beach (metaphorically speaking).

New Music: Rome Cee – Black Ring x Virtue

Okay, okay. I’m trying to get back to posting on the regular. So here’s some new shit!

Just in case anyone thought The Extra Mile was a fluke, Rome Cee comes back just a few months later with new tracks.  And these two joints go hard.  Rome is proving why he’s been called “the best new Baltimore MC” with consistency and drive.

Black Ring has already been covered by The City Paper and Virtue is currently up on DJ Booth.  Make sure you head over and leave a comment.  For DJ Booth it really helps if an artist rises in the charts from ratings and comments.

PEACE!

Living

I’ve been in LA for a little over 2 months right now and it’s been really amazing.  I love Baltimore but I have always felt like I fit in here.  I haven’t gotten a lot of music done since I’ve been here, I’ve more so been taking it all in, but I’ll be back in the swing soon.  In the meantime here are a few snapshots of what I’ve been up too.  Just a taste mind you.

But they look like sneakers!

Contrary to popular belief there are some great spots to grub out here.

What up Dunny?

“One Last Run” Kickstarter

Artwork by Hilton Carter for his upcoming film, One Last Run

The above image is for an upcoming short film called One Last Run which will commence shooting in November.  It’s being directed by my good friend Hilton Carter who you’ve most likely read about here a number of times.  the film started as a story that was told to me by a friend of a friend and I thought it just HAD to be at least a short film.  I told it to Hilton who at the time was focused on a more dark aesthetic (see Moth).  Being that I’m kind of stubborn I did a draft of the script and gave it to Hilton.  After spending some time with it, he came around to wanting to make it happen.  He’s since added to what I’ve written and each subsequent draft that he’s done has really upped the ante as far as drama and depth.  To say I’m really excited to see this thing come to fruition is an understatement.

Which brings me to the subject of this post.  As Hilton has researched locations and worked on making OLR come to life, he’s realized that a little bit of scratch could only help to up the production value of what could be a really awesome project.  So he’s started a Kickstarter account and is raising money from friends, family and fans.  Please check out the account and watch the video and even if you can’t afford to put some cash forward for it, please share it with someone that might.

Thanks for all of your support!

UllNevaNo – “Hand Movements”

UllNevaNo is back again!  I don’t know anyone that works as hard as he does.  This joint is from his next mixtape, The Color Brown 2, where he’ll be rhyming over tracks by Apollo Brown. The track is called “Hand Movements,” referencing the movements that MC’s do as they spit their rhymes.  The track is dope. Check it out below and let me know what you think.
