This weekend you can catch me at the above event in Waldorf, MD this week.  I’m gonna have to Google Map that one for sure.  But you should too.  My dude Telly from Heroes 4 Hire asked me to come through and we’re going to be doing a set of tunes that I’ve done with them.  You’d be surprised at how many songs we’ve done actually.  So this is going to be a unique set.  You won’t see me playing these songs all together like this again.  I think it’s like a festival environment so that should be cool.  We go on at 11pm.  Hope to see you on Saturday!

Last night I battled the snowy streets of D.C. to stop by 89.3 FM and promote The Major Major Mixtape on The Soul Controllers‘ Decypher show. Since we put out Breaking Ground Vol. 1 Bush Head Ed and the Soul Controllers have been really supportive of Under Sound so I try to make it a point to get up to the station any time we have a release.

I know a lot of artists don’t enjoy doing radio spots and interviews but at this point at my career I actually like it.  I love to take the chance to go out and let people know about the music and to share it with them.  Through radio I can do both and reach a pretty large audience especially on the FM dial.  I try to take every opportunity to make at least one more fan.  Through monitoring the Internet after we interview with the City Paper for instance, I’ve noticed a jump in our blog views and additional followers on Twitter so I know that these things really work.  For me aside from actually being in the studio and creating music, dealing with the media is actually my favorite thing to do in music.  There have been bad reviews and there have been unfavorable things said about me online but I try to take those times when people are listening to let everyone know about myself, Under Sound and the whole lifestyle brand that we’re trying to build with it.

Thanks for listening and reading.  If you haven’t noticed I’ve been trying to keep this blog pretty up to date with things that we’ve been doing as well as our friends and artists we represent.  So I’ll continue to try to keep that up if you all keep checking back.

We keep it rolling today with yet another dope track from E Major’s The Major Major Mixtape.  Again the rhythms are provided by our very own Eddie aka Eddie Music aka Eddie Pearson.  Going a long with much of the mixtape theme of doing big things but following your own path, “Want To Be Me” connects the struggle and frustration of being an artist with the same seemingly futile efforts that we all face no matter what job we’re persuing.

We’ve been getting a great response from the tracks we’ve released this week and we hope you all visit us on Monday and download the whole mixtape, mixed by our big homie DJ Face.

This inspirational head-nodder is just another taste of the versatility E Major’s upcoming project has to offer. It’s also a fine example of the great caliber of Hip-Hop talent coming out of Baltimore right now. The Major Major Mixtape will be available for download right here on February 8, 2010.

As we gear up for the release of “The Major Major Mixtape” on Monday, February 8th, we’re releasing information and/or music each day leading up to the official drop.  Today we have the official album art done by our friend Rex aka Rexamillion. I’ve done a lot of shows and been to a lot of cool events.  But I definitely felt the sting of envy when I saw these videos by my homeboy DJ Face.  Of course by now you all know he’s an official True School DJ, and with that he afforded certain privileges.  On this occasion Face was a part of something that surpasses the word “cool.”  9th Wonder decided to have a tribute for his heroes and friends, DJ Premier and Pete Rock.  He decided to include his whole True School and Jamlah family and they really made it night of dope music and enormous respect for a pair of guys that really defined 90′s Hip Hop for many of us in the game now.

Hey everyone.  Sorry I didn’t update you all while I was in NYC. There was some Internet issues and things got really busy as we were running from event to event trying to do as much as possible.

Overall it was a great time dispite the rain and bad weather.  We hit up our hometown homie Substantial’s show as part of QN5 (the label that he’s on)’s showcase as well as some other events including BMI’s Creme de la Creme showcase at Blvd.  A lot of good times and great networking opportunities.  Some of you caught Zen on PNC Radio over the week and we plan on returning soon to promo for The Major Major Mixtape, so keep checking back or just put us in your RSS reader so you don’t miss a thing.
