Watch: Hilton Carter’s New Short Film, “VICTOR”

VICTOR from Hilton Carter on Vimeo.

While the homie Hilton Carter has been gearing up to shoot his next picture “One Last Run,” he decided he’d keep busy by shooting a short film. That film is VICTOR and you can watch it right now!  It’s the story of  a struggling comedian as he fights writers block while staying at a hotel in between gigs. As he’s the easily distracted type, Victor finds himself sidetracked by everything from some time with the ladies to getting high with a suicidal cat (which I voiced BTW).

So check it out above and let us know what you think!

“One Last Run” Kickstarter

Artwork by Hilton Carter for his upcoming film, One Last Run

The above image is for an upcoming short film called One Last Run which will commence shooting in November.  It’s being directed by my good friend Hilton Carter who you’ve most likely read about here a number of times.  the film started as a story that was told to me by a friend of a friend and I thought it just HAD to be at least a short film.  I told it to Hilton who at the time was focused on a more dark aesthetic (see Moth).  Being that I’m kind of stubborn I did a draft of the script and gave it to Hilton.  After spending some time with it, he came around to wanting to make it happen.  He’s since added to what I’ve written and each subsequent draft that he’s done has really upped the ante as far as drama and depth.  To say I’m really excited to see this thing come to fruition is an understatement.

Which brings me to the subject of this post.  As Hilton has researched locations and worked on making OLR come to life, he’s realized that a little bit of scratch could only help to up the production value of what could be a really awesome project.  So he’s started a Kickstarter account and is raising money from friends, family and fans.  Please check out the account and watch the video and even if you can’t afford to put some cash forward for it, please share it with someone that might.

Thanks for all of your support!

Hilton Carter’s “Moth” To Premiere on HBO

Before anyone goes nuts, that’s not official artwork for the release of Moth, our boy Hilton Carter’s dark, psycho thriller.  It’s just something I threw together for this post.

We knew that after the HBO’s ABFF, Moth was snatched up by the premier service cable channel, but today we’re getting word of when this short will actually air.  As you can see from above the film will show on HBO on Saturday February 5th at both 2:45 and 9:45PM, but it will also be showing through Camcast’s OnDemand service ALL MONTH LONG!  So don’t sleep!  Check it out and when you do, feel free to let us know what you thought.  A brief plot synopsis is below.

Story Line: Sophie, a beautiful drug abusing young actress, flies into Los Angeles from New York, for a job. While staying at the home of some family friends, who just happen to be out of town, Sophie finds her boredom and unhappiness to be the least

Hilton Carter in B Weekly Paper

As you probably know, tomorrow there is a HUGE event.  There will be a screening of Hilton Carter’s excellent short film “Moth” at Landmark theater in Baltimore’s Harbor East.  Catch it on the big screen before it starts popping up on HBO and see it how it’s meant to be seen.

Today Hilton was featured with an interview in The B Weekly Paper and “Moth” was also written about.  Both articles are by the thoughtful and insightful Brandon Soderberg and the interview gives you a little look into Hilton’s artistic process.  It’s pretty f*ckin’ cool if you ask me.

So definitely check those articles out now and come see the film tomorrow.

PEACE!

Event: Hilton Carter’s “Moth” Screening

Those of you that missed my good friend Hilton Carter‘s film Moth when it was screened a while back can thank Flying Dog beer for bringing back to the big screen.  Since it was last shown in Baltimore, the film has been all over the place, being shown in festivals in Milan, Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago.  Just getting in these film festivals is so difficult so that tells you how dope this film is.  So come down to Landmark Theater in Baltimore’s bustling Harbor East and check it out on Sept 30th.  Our own DJ Impulse will be DJing at the event so do not sleep on this.
