New Video: E Major – “Answers”

Inglewood resident and Baltimore native, E Major returns with a dope self-directed music video for “Answers,” the latest from his EP/mixtape Konduct da Invazion which features E Major rhyming over Madlib instrumentals. “Answers” utilizes the instrumental from Lootpack’s classic with teh same name and builds on it with cuts by another Maryland resident DJ Mad One who is also featured in the video.

The video plays with some of the lyrics E Major spits and finds he and Mad One trying to collect a ransom for a state senator as E Major makes calls and a ransom note, and Mad One drives the aforementioned senator to a destinations unknown.

New Album: E Major – Konduct da Invazion

konduct-feat

Baltimore raised, Inglewood based emcee, E Major returns with a dusty fingered release entitled “Konduct da Invazion.” His latest effort finds him rapping over instrumentals from Stonesthrow beatsmith, the legendary Madlib. While this isn’t an official collaboration, E Major hand picked a 6 tracks from the Beat Konducta’s eclectic catalogue that create a cohesive soundscape. Adding sound bites from movies and interviews as well as cuts from DJ Mad One, make this an EP that feels more like an official project than a mixtape.

Hit the Hitman is in Post Production!

dad-hthm

Just a little update on our short film. I’ve been really busy so I haven’t had a lot of time to post, so a lot has happened! We wrapped principal photography two weekends ago and I couldn’t be happier with how things came out. I learned quickly that no matter how much you plan (an believe me, I planned thoroughly) once you’re on set, there are factors that you have to deal with that can derail those plans quickly. Luckily I had a great team of folks that helped me to still get what I wanted and a group of actors that knew their stuff and were still able to roll with what I was throwing at them on set.

New Music: August Gordon – Beast Coast

BeastCoast6-BW

New music from August Gordon!!! He’s definitely one of the illest beatmakers I know and probably one of the illest out, period.

Here’s what August has to say about the project.

This project came about when I stumbled upon an old hard drive at a friends containing a bunch of great instrumentals that I had forgotten about from the late 90s into the early 2000s. I originally intended to just release a “Lost Tapes” beat tape of sorts but when I started going through them I realized that a lot of the beats had a real distinct east coast golden era flavor. I picked the best of those gems and added a bunch of stuff from recent years that didn’t get placed or Id forgotten, made some new beats, did some edits, interludes etc and viola, Beast Coast was born. Growing up in Baltimore and spending a lot of my childhood in NY, this serves as my homage to the northeast, a place that brought me my first true love in music, hip hop. This is a good joint to blast in the whip, play some dice to late night or just pump out some big ol speakers at a house party.Watch the levels cus I kept it unmastered and raw, the way u used to get tapes from your friends back in the day.Hopefully this will help u get caught back up in the nostalgia of a sound that keeps reinventing itself!! As always free download (donations accepted).I just ask if you enjoy the music spread it around. Peace and Love and have a safe, fun and productive summer )

New album: E Major, “Baltimore Bruin” | ft. Rome Cee, Kane Mayfield, King’s Khrysis, Kaimbr and more

Baltimore-bred, Los Angeles-based emcee E Major presents Baltimore Bruin, his new album featuring Cynthia Hawkes, Marc Evan, King’s Khrysis, Kaimbr, UllNevaNo, Rome Cee and Kane Mayfield as well as original production from Rexamillion, August Flight Gordon, Khrysis, Roddy Rod, IllMeasured, Minus Nine, Eddie Pearson and Sham Dibiase. E’s album Better Than Yours had already made Baltimore City Paper’s top ten albums of 2011 – two years after dubbing his Majority Rules album “a classic” – by the time his hit “Paper Runnin’” started doing the rounds on 92Q, later remixed by local legend DJ Booman. Wielding common-sense lyricism and a relaxed, persistent flow which presides on equal footing over boom-bap and trap alike, E’s shared stages with Lupe Fiasco, Wale, and Little Brother and has gotten the nod from Okayplayer, MTV, VH1 and DJ Booth. Three videos from the project have already been released: “Outrageous” (watch here), ”Feature Presentation” (watch here) and “Zodiac Freestyle” (watch here).
