Baltimore’s Under Sound Music releases another high quality ‘mini-video’ from E Major’s The Major Major Mixtape.  This video is for the Eddie Pearson produced “Want To Be Me.” To drive home the idea of the song, the video features E Major in his home and his home recording studio.  “Want To Be Me” is about anyone that hopes to gain success and still stay true to who they are.  The idea is that we are no more ourselves then when in our own personal surroundings.

This is going to be such a fun night.  Our good friends at Pedx and Always Dope are helping us celebrate the release of The Major Major Mixtape and we’ll even have slim case copies for those in attendance (while supplies last of course).  These are really limited in quantity so come through and get your copy.  I’ll be doing a set as well as  group called Ground Up and our good friend Eddie is coming down from his new home in NYC to DJ for a bit.

For me a release party is two things.  One, it’s like a bit of closure.  It’s a way of saying that I’m done working on this project (not promoting it of course) and I can move onto recording other material.  Secondly, it’s a way of thanking those involved in making the project possible and the fans and friends that make it possible for me to put out music.  So I really hope we have a good turnout.  I’ve already gotten confirmation from some fam from PA and DC that they’ll be in the building so Bmore needs to really represent on this one.

We keep it rolling today with yet another dope track from E Major’s The Major Major Mixtape.  Again the rhythms are provided by our very own Eddie aka Eddie Music aka Eddie Pearson.  Going a long with much of the mixtape theme of doing big things but following your own path, “Want To Be Me” connects the struggle and frustration of being an artist with the same seemingly futile efforts that we all face no matter what job we’re persuing.

We’ve been getting a great response from the tracks we’ve released this week and we hope you all visit us on Monday and download the whole mixtape, mixed by our big homie DJ Face.

It’s officially 2010 but we want to thank you all for helping Under Sound Music have a successful 2009!  Last year we released Eddie’s Sound Wandering EP and we released two amazing videos for “Paper Runnin” and “Make It”, which was directed by Zu Keeny.  We traveled to NYC for CMJ week and were featured on PNC radio.  E Major & DJ Impulse created a huge buzz with “Paper Runnin” and it spawned several remixes. DJ Booman’s remix made it to the airwaves with heavy rotation on 92Q!

We Partnered with Pedestrian for several dope events and a dope New Era snapback collab. E Major collaborated with several dope artists on various projects/mixtapes and he opened for artists such as Phife Dawg, Brand Nubian, Camp Lo, and Black Milk. He was also invited to perform at yet another annual J Dilla tribute and was also featured in the hip-hop documentary, Paused In Time. We accomplished so much and we appreciate your continued support.

We have lots in store for 2010 so continue to check out the site for updates on shows, events, music releases, videos, merchandise etc. Also, be on the lookout for E Major’s upcoming release The Major Major Mixtape coming out real soon!

Eddie (who’s now taken on the name Wells Goodington) is up in NYC right now taking in CMJ’s.  He’s definitely on his grind, meeting artists, passing out beat CDs, networking etc…  And while he’s up there he decided to link with the beautiful young songstress Nirvana Savory to lay down some music.  She’s working on her own project and will also feature on Wells’ new project that is in the works.  He sent over some photos so share with you all.  Check ‘em out below.

“The Band Belief” Rehearsing in Richmond, VA

TONIGHT, our boy Eddie AKA Ed Music, is opening for Chrissette Michelle with the band “The Band Belief.” Ed will be banging on some drum pads and DJing with the group. The event is called “Fridays at Sunset” in Richmond, VA. If you’re going to check out Chrisette Michelle, do yourself a favor and get their in time to catch this group, and show our boy Eddie some love!

So last night Eddie hits me with some remixes he did for a singer from VA Beach named K’bana Blaq, for a song called “Blaq City.”  K is part of a collective called The Fuzz Band but does some solo work as well.  I started banging these immediately.  The deep house remix fits the song so perfect in my opinion.  I’ll be checking for K’bana from now on and I will definitely be rocking these remixes by Ed.
