My First BBQ (in LA)

So, I’m aware that I haven’t posted much on here recently.  If you follow me on Twitter or if you’re a fan on Facebook then you know why.  I recently (like 3 weeks ago) moved to LA.  It was a big haul from Baltimore to sunny California and me and wifey have spent much of our time settling in since we’ve been here. We sold a bunch of stuff before we left so we have to acquire new things.  So since it’s been super hectic, we wanted to take Labor Day and kick it… West Coast style.  Which as it turns out isn’t much different from East Coast style, but that might have to do with the fact that half of the people at the BBQ were from Baltimore!  Our good friend Hilton Carter was our host and it was just a day of food, fun and flip cup.  Check the pics to see how we get down.

Definitely check back soon though, I’ll be back in full swing with new music and whatnot before you know it.

PEACE!

Photos from Bentz Street Bar with Kev Brown, Kaimbr and more

Took me a minute to post these but we’ve been busy over here at Under Sound with Rome Cee’s recent release popping up all over the place.  I couldn’t sleep on getting these pictures up though.  Jorge Rivas did a great job with them.  The show was just so dope.  I have said it before about these shows that Blinding Sun has been doing in Frederick, but you just don’t get shows like this anymore.  They’re putting together shows that from opener to headliner just rocks.  I mean Sean Touré, the Action Figures crew, Boog Brown, Kev Brown and Kaimbr? Oh yeah and I did a short set with my homie DJ Face aka Sean Armstrong.  The shit is crazy!  There are more to come to make sure you get out to some of these shows if you’re in Frederick some time.

Photos from The Latchkey Kids Release Party

Last night was a lot of fun.  I mentioned during my performance that I appreciated to be there because it was really just the Makeshift/Action Figures guys performing and I felt like family even though I was kinda the odd man out.  Everyone had good sets and it was a really intimate environment that let the performers interact with the crowd.  If you haven’t picked up Latchkey Kids yet what are you waiting for.  You can get it on iTunes right now!

New Music From Scott Free

SFCOPY

There is something in the water in Frederick, MD. I kid you not.  The shows that I’ve hosted the past two months have been nuts and the Makeshift/Action Figures crew is killing shit.  With fellow Makeshifter J Berd’s exceptional album, Latchkey Kids currently getting burn, Scott Free is next up from the crew with his album IV dropping next month.  This track “Live” has some dope horn samples and I love the reggae sirens.  Scott dances over the stuttering snares to great effect and gives a little “la la la” chorus that works nicely.  Peep it out below and be on the look out for IV dropping next month here or on Scott’s site www.mdhiphop.com.

The Other Side of… E Major

Ellipsis abound!!!  Last week I dropped “E Major is… Better Than Yours” and this week I’m part of a column called “The other side of… E Major.”  Wesley Case hit me up and asked if I wanted to be a part of this new feature from the B Weekly paper.  It’s pretty cool cause it gives people who know an artist a deeper look into weird little things that artist is into and for people who have no idea who the artist is, it gives them and interesting introduction.  Now that I read it I realize some of my answers sound a bit “cool guy trying to be cool” but I don’t give a fuck, that’s what I’m into.  Reminds me of a time a friend overheard a girl at a party call me and my friends elitist hipsters.  Lol.  It was so long ago I had to look up what a hipster was.  I was like “Well we are elitists.  She got that part right.” Lol.

Anyway, head on over to B The Site if you’re not in the Baltimore area and can’t pick the paper up.  I’ve already gotten a number of texts and tweets that my face is out there all over the city.  Kinda cool I guess.  Even if I look a bit goofy.
